About Caring with Calm

Caring with Calm was created by Steven and Regina Tindall — family caregivers who learned firsthand just how demanding, emotional, and life-altering caregiving can be.

Like many caregiving journeys, theirs did not begin with a plan. It began with a phone call, a moment of uncertainty, and the realization that someone they loved needed more care, presence, and advocacy than the system around her could provide. What followed was a sudden shift in priorities, routines, and expectations — and the understanding that caregiving often asks people to step forward without preparation or guidance.

In those early days, there were long nights, difficult decisions, physical exhaustion, and moments of doubt. There were also lessons learned through necessity: how routines create stability, how communication can ease fear, how safety and dignity must coexist, and how deeply caregivers themselves need support.

Caring with Calm was created because so many families are living this reality every day — often quietly, often alone, and often without clear guidance. We are not medical professionals, and these books are not clinical manuals. We are caregivers who learned by doing, by listening, and by leaning on the wisdom of nurses, hospice teams, and others who walked beside us.

The resources offered through Caring with Calm are meant to provide reassurance, steadiness, and practical understanding — not by promising easy answers, but by helping caregivers feel less isolated as they navigate incredibly hard moments.

If you have found your way here, you may be at the beginning of this journey, or somewhere in the middle of a long and exhausting road. Wherever you are, we want you to know this:

You are not alone.
Your strength is real.
Your love matters.

We are honored to walk this path with you.
